From a collectors estate, this is Sweet Sue. Marked: Amer. Char. Doll. Made in 1952-54. She is all hard plastic, jointed at the neck, shoulders & hips.
Her face is wonderful with original paint, blue sleep eyes, intact lashes, ruby lips, and very rosy cheeks. This is one of the prettier type Sweet Sue dolls. She wears her lovely saran wig, still in the original curled set.
The body is also nice, with walking mechanism working and head turning nicely. Just a slight squeak. No issues or body odors.
Sue wears a vintage bridal outfit. There were several bridal gowns made for these dolls, and I’m not sure if this is original to her or not? It appears to be factory-made. The gown is ivory satin with rows of vintage lace, an attached petticoat, matching bloomers, and a matching lace veil. She also wears pinkish satin shoes and carries a pink floral bouquet. The outfit is clean and odor-free. Just one broken snap.
Gorgeous display doll!

Most of the dolls we sell are 50 to 150 years old. It can be difficult to describe every smudge, mark, loose snap, scratch or other minor age issue. We do the best we can to give accurate descriptions and we add multiple large photos to each listing which show the doll’s condition. We accept returns but we ask you to please review the photos before buying. If you are using a smartphone you may need to zoom in to the photos to see them in detail.
Thank you for looking.
